My Girlfriend has been raving about this place for a couple weeks. She said the new food was fantastic and the prices were good. I got to go there today and she was not exaggerating. The tacos were on point

AL pastor is ALWAYS so good you just can't ever get enough. Wish I had two stomachs to eat with.

My favourite real Mexican food restaurant

The tacos were so good for lunch I took my wife to dinner. I had the carne asada buritto. For the tacos I had the carne asada, al pastor & the carnitas. All were flavored well and the service was friendly and prompt. I would highly recommend Tacos El Rey.

Place was pretty dope...laid back and chill. The people were nice and the food was pretty good. Pollo was ok and beans were a bit too salty for me. Regardless, I left feeling good and full so it was a bonus! My family had sopes and tacos combos, then ended up with 6 extra tacos. I would had left a picture, but I went in before I could and finished before I remembered. Try it...

Great customer service, very clean establishment, feel like food could have been better. I ordered the pozole, torta ahogada, and carne asada plate with chips and salsa. So pozole was really good I did wish it had more meat in it though. The torta ahogada had a chicken stuffing and was very salty also the sauce was very bland, carne asada plate was very dried but well seasoned. The chips and salsa were delicious.

Great Mexican food, best Mexican soups in town, closest to homemade as you can get. Great Tacos, Great prices. Highly recommend

Total hidden gem with delicious Mexican food. They serve egg dishes past breakfast and have a wide menu for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The ambience is relaxed and relaxing (not just a lunch counter feel). Highly recommended if you're hungry.

Been coming here for 13 years and they never failed me. I mean there was that one time with a plate of chilaquiles that were way to damn dry, but the sopes are amazing!!! The tacos are great and the service is amazing if you speak Spanish. Jokes aside it's a Mexican restaurant and it's good dont expect full English it's a Mexican restaurant.

We came here on a friend's recommendation for the best seafood campechana. It was so flavorful. Plus, the tacos de lengua, tripas and cabeza were perfecto! I've never wanted so many tacos in one visit anywhere else. Muchas gracias, we'll be back pronto!

Always great, food is always delicious! The cashier at the counter is very polite and always provides great customer service. My go to place for lunch most days out of the week! You have to try their wet burritos, and carne asada tostadas!!!

Absolutely love this place, I've been coming here since I was a kid. Their food is consistently good, the service is good, always nice, always fast and they are always asking if you need anything. Plus. You can't beat these prices. Always my go to when I want authentic Mexican food.

Best Mexican food in town!

I'm from socal and picky about my tacos but this place is good. We went during the lunch hour and was able to get in and out in an hour. The red salsa is hella spicy so beware if spice isn't your thing. This place is big enough for large groups so that's a plus. They are also located by a meat shop so you could do a lil shopping and get a snack all at the same time. Would recommend and go again.

Not good. Meat is old. Food isn't fresh. Michelada is super watered down. Flan was chunky and not good. "Aguas frescas" are concentrate not frescas at all. Not worth the money.... Sorry but just being honest this restaurant had alot of good reviews but are far from my experience. Won't eat here again and wouldn't recommend.

They forgot to give me one of my tamales I ordered. But the tacos and horchata are some of the best I've ever had.

Have come here often during my lunch hour. Guy at the counter is always super pleasant. Food is constantly top notch and fair pricing. Can't beat it, in my opinion. There are a couple other ones around town but I mostly come here because of the location is close to my office. I typically get tacos a la carte and it's a great lunch when you're on a budget.

Got some marinated beef that I can't pronounce but it was SO good! Got some tacos so I could enjoy the meat at its best and I'll definitely be dragging friends here

I always think they've been open much longer than they have (can't remember but a long time) because it seems like I've been going there forever! That should say it all, but to be more detailed, I've eaten nearly everything they offer and have never been disappointed. My favorites are the tostada mixta, campechana, shrimp ceviche and spicy pork tacos! I think their style is Guadalajara as opposed to the Michuacan that seems to be more prevalent in Reno. The prices are like from 15 years ago! This has long been one of my favorite restaurants in Reno. I will note that this is not a place to go if you like fancy atmosphere. That's just not important to me at all. I go for the food!

Very good seafood tostada, chili relleno and chicken tacos. Cheap too.

I have no words for the greatness that is this restaurants hottest salsa. It was a straight endorphin punch. Thank you Taco's El Ray. I love that when I asked for the hottest stuff they got, they didn't treat me like the white kid I am and give me the mild salsa. Much appreciated my dudes. Keep it up! I'll definitely be back for more!! Bring the heat!!!!!

We absolutely LOVE Tacos El Rey!! My family (myself, my fiance and our 3 kids) drive from Carson City to Reno just to enjoy meals at Tacos El Rey. The food they serve is literally the best mexican food I've ever had. My face is the El Pastor tacos! My Fiance loves the giant wet burritos and our kids love the quesadillas. Oh, and the service is always amazing! Staff is so patient with our rowdy kids and so kind and everyone always has smiles.
